RRIV presents a low cost, user customizable platform for water body monitoring, research, prototyping, and citizen science, streamlined for use by moderately skilled technical operators. Combining open source hardware and software with carefully considered use cases and user experience, RRIV is an accessible and affordable solution to environmental water quality monitoring at dense spatial scales.

Long term impacts of restoration practices, or pollution events, are often unknown without logging change over time. With dense data, we see how both positive and negative actions affect the river, facilitating behavior modification and accountability.
